Solar Panel Installations
What do solar panels do?
Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity. It doesn’t need to be warm or dry, it just needs to be daylight to generate energy. The sunlight we get on a cloudy day in Northern Ireland still generates electricity.
Installs can be completed in just 2 to 3 days - this can vary based on your individual requirements. We can advise how long your install will take after a quick, free consultation at a time that suits you.
For most homes, planning permission is not required for solar panel installation however if you live in a listed building or conservation area it is worth checking with your local council’s planning office before your consultation.
Why install solar panels?
Solar panels generate free electricity, once installed, you will save money on your electricity bills. In Northern Ireland, you could save between £485 to £1,110 a year, depending on the energy output size of your solar system.
-
Any extra electricity you generate but don’t use can be sold back to the NI electricity grid to make you money, or be saved for later if you install a solar battery.
-
Extra electricity can be diverted into your immersion heater and hot water.
-
Solar energy is a more environmentally friendly energy source than the burning of fossil fuels such as coal.
-
An average solar system lasts about 25 years before needing any significant repairs or replacements.
-
All of these benefits can increase the value of your property.
